The Bloomsbury Group is the trading name of TBG Search Ltd, a private company incorporated in England and Wales under registered number 07136194, whose registered office is at 31 Beckwith Road, London SE24 9LH.

TBG Search Ltd is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation (the GDPR) with the Information Commissioner’s Office under number Z2156961.

This website links to servers maintained by other organisations. We accept no liability for the content of any third-party website to which this website is linked.

We strongly value data protection and privacy. Our Privacy Policy sets out how we collect and use personal information and the rights you have in relation to your information.

This notice sets out how TBG Search Ltd (TBG) uses and protects personal information we may hold about you, together with providing you with certain other information relevant to your personal information.

This notice was last updated May 2018. We reserve the right to change the terms of this Privacy Policy from time-to-time. If we do, revised terms will be posted on our website.

What personal information may TBG hold about you, and how is it collected?

We may hold your personal information because:

  • you supplied it to us;
  • we learned it from someone else, either in the context of providing business services to our clients or in the context of our business more generally; or
  • it is publicly available.

The personal information we hold about you will generally consist of your name, your business to business contact information, your job title, and details of your career and professional background. In general, we will not ask you about sensitive personal data but there may be times that it is necessary for information to be disclosed to us and for us to share with our clients. We will only share this information where you have provided your consent.

Generally, you have no obligation to provide us with your personal information, but if you do not provide information we ask for we may not be able to deal further with you.

What does TBG do with your personal information?

We will use your personal information:

  • to provide our recruitment services;
  • to run our business affairs, including internal record keeping;
  • to comply with our legal obligations, including reporting obligations;
  • to invite you to events.

We will only send you marketing communications if specifically requested by you.

Who do we share your personal information with?

With your consent, we may disclose personal information to appropriate persons within our clients to enable us to conduct our recruitment activities. The clients will act as independent data controllers and will determine how they use, store and process your data and will have their own privacy policies.

Additionally we may share with:

  • third party suppliers of services to TBG, in the course of their supply of such services, but not without your express permission.
  • regulatory bodies (as required by law).

Grounds for processing

The legal basis on which we hold your personal information is primarily for the purpose of pursuing our legitimate interests as a business providing executive recruitment services. In some instances, we may rely on your express consent to use your personal information, but we will let you know (and give you the chance to withdraw consent) if we do.

Transfer outside the EEA

Where needed in order to enable us to achieve the objective of our processing the data as described above, we may transfer your personal information to third parties outside the European Economic Area (EEA). The EEA includes all EU Member countries as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Where we do so we will only transfer your personal information to third parties outside the EEA if that third party (a) is situated in a country that has been confirmed by the European Commission to provide adequate protection to personal information, or (b) has agreed (by way of written contract) to provide all protections to your personal information as required by data protection legislation, or (c) if the transfer is otherwise permitted by law.

For how long does TBG keep your personal information?

We will keep your personal information for as long as is necessary for the purpose(s) for which it was provided.

Our website may contain links to other websites which are outside our control and are not covered by this Privacy Policy. If you access other sites using the links provided, the operators of these sites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their privacy policy, which may differ from ours.

What rights do you have in respect of our holding your personal information?

  • you can ask what personal information we hold about you and be provided with a copy. This is called a subject access request;

  • you can withdraw your consent to our processing your personal information, where our processing is based on your consent;

Although we do not use performance or functionality cookies on our website, it uses a cookie to help our system recognise a limited number of individuals who are authorised to make changes to our site, but it will be erased when you close your browser.
